Its not about gatekeeping new people, it is about advice how to get that full trails experience. Othervise you'll be missing out just too much stuff.

I'd say cs1 is a decent starting point, but only if you stop after cs2 and go back to sky. And by the end of erebonia arc it feels like a crossover of all 3 arcs. Not awful since you would get that erebonia arc experience, but you will be missing out on lore and continuity, countless references and cameos - the parts that what i love trails the most. But among Sky1, Zero, and cs3 it is only better than cs3. The attention to details!ģd argument is weird, it would make playing other parts actually feel worse gameplay-wise and more outdated (i do believe cs1-2 have the best combat systems even better than later parts).Ĭs1 is a 'good' starting point, in a sense that it is better than later parts or somewhere mid-arc. I still remember seeing that one npc dude in cs3 and remembering him being a minor sidequest character in sky, it was hilarious. It's like starting reading harry potter from 5th volume or something, you would get the experience, but it wouldn't be a full course.Īnd that continuity not just about major characters or events. Missising out on that just makes it pointless to play trails in the first place imo. Never good enough.Īnd trails greatest stenght is just that, a detailed world building, connected plotlines, continuity of everyone and everything.

I can't agree with 'good enough job' right here.

A 'yeah, these 2 are liberl bracers' would never replace the sheer joy of seeing them after experiencing sky. You would never truly 'feel' those moments when sky characters shows up.
